What are you waiting for....

I have wanted to write a beauty blog for a while now but I always seemed to shy away from it, that is until now. Having spent years sharing my knowledge and passion for skincare, makeup and hair products with family and friends it is finally time to take the plunge and offer it to a wider audience of likeminded beauty junkies.

So where did this passion for all things beauty begin? Well....

I was 12 years old when I first tore off a magazine cover and pinned it to my bedroom wall - it was Elle magazine and the model was wearing the perfect shade of lipstick. I remember it was by Estee Lauder and it was called Smoky Rose. I wasn't even close to wearing makeup at that age but I watched my Mum put on her makeup every morning, including "that" beautiful lipstick. My Mum is my beauty inspiration. She is amazing at putting on false eyelashes that look so natural only those who see her first thing in the morning would know that her eyelashes aren't actually that long. She wore them everyday without fail and even had her own technique to keep the curl in them. I just remember thinking she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen.

My obsession with tearing pages out of magazines continued well into my early thirties and I now have folders full of images that inspire me. Pinterest now helps with the storage issues, thankfully. This inspiration has led me to buy bucket loads of products which I would use to recreate the looks in the pictures. Then, five years ago I was having a chat with my husband over lunch about "dream jobs" and I said that I would love to be a makeup artist like Pat McGrath and he convinced me to give it a shot. I certainly had the passion and desire to do it and nearly every MAC eyeshadow shade to match. So I attended a course at the Academy of Freelance Makeup (AOFM) in London and began working as a freelance makeup artist. During my training I picked up many tips and tricks from leading makeup artists and over the last five years have gained extensive experience that I now hope to share on All About Belle. Most importantly, I continue to learn, love and live beauty and I hope you enjoy reading and sharing my blogging journey with me.

Who is your beauty inspiration?
