My Skincare Routine

I am sorry for the lack of blog posts recently, things have been pretty hectic with visiting family and looking after the kids. I have mentioned in a few blog posts recently that I have made a real effort to improve my skincare regime. I will admit to being a lazy Simple face wipe user, however, now that I am in my mid-thirties with two little ones, my skin is craving more attention. So here is a breakdown of the routine I have been trying really hard to follow:

Morning:
Cleanse with milk or gel and use flannel/muslin to remove
Spray hydrate (toner)
Eye cream
Serum
Moisturiser

Evening:
Eye make-up remover
Oil/Balm cleanser
Acid tone (liquid gold 2-3 times a week)
Clarisonic Mia 2 (1-2 times a week)
Eye cream
Treatment - facial oil

My current favourite products are:

Acid tone - Alpha H Liquid Gold

I am also a fan of the Avene Thermal Spring Water for an extra moisture boost after makeup application or throughout the day if your skin is feeling dehydrated. The Caudalie Beauty Elixir is also excellent for giving a dewy glow to skin before and after makeup application. This is great to carry around in your handbag to give your face a boost throughout the day.

The process of adding these products to my daily regime has been a gradual one involving lots of research to make sure I was buying the right products for my skin. One of the most helpful sources of information on what an ideal skincare routine looks like is on Caroline Hiron's blog. She is an qualified advanced facialist and really knows what she is talking about. I recommend referring to her blog for any skincare products you are thinking of trying to see if she has reviewed them - she is brutally honest in a really good way!

What skincare products have you tried that you love?
